This campground/resort is AOR affiliated (the reason for the $8.00 per night rate) and we picked this resort because we are AOR members. Stoney Creek was recently purchased by the current owners and there is extensive renovations being done such as new electric, water and sewer connections, clearing sites, and remodeling bathrooms. The clubhouse is very large, neat and clean with pool tables, ping pong table, video games and large screen TV. There are streams running through the campground with wooden footbridges. There is a designated beach area located on the little lake. However, since it was April, we didn't test the waters. There is a large swimming pool also. The semi-shaded to full sun sites are level and spacious. The back part of the campground has a view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. There are activities planned for each weekend. Stoney Creek is located off Interstate 81 in the town of Greenville, and there are signs leading to the campground. My only complaint is the rough road on which the campground is located, but there is only .6 mi you have to dodge the potholes. We would return to Stoney Creek if our travels bring us back to the area.
